At the
Privy Council meeting held at Buckingham Palace on 15 December 2010. Two proclamations were given (see pp. 14-15):
1. appointing Friday 29th April 2011 as a bank holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland;
2. appointing Friday 29th April 2011 as a bank holiday in Scotland;
and two Orders directing th Lord Chancellor to affix the Great Seal to the Proclamations.
It has of course been known for some time that
the royal wedding on Friday 29 April 2010 was to become a
Bank Holiday, but now it has at least been formalised.
Was the royal assent to the marriage also granted at this meeting?
ReplyDeleteNo, the royal assent will come at a meeting next year.
