According to the Norwegian Royal Court's website, HRH The Crown Prince Regent will grant "Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada" an audience at 2 p.m. on 22 March 2011.
Michaëlle Jean served as Governor General of Canada from 27 September 2005 to 1 October 2010. The current Governor General is David Lloyd Johnston. I wonder if it is a custom in Canada to refer to former Governors General with the title they used while in office, just like it is custom to refer to former US presidents as for instance "President Bill Clinton", "President George W. Bush" etc.? I thought Jean was only entitled to the style "Rt. Hon."
By the way, Michaëlle Jean paid a state visit to Norway 28-30 April 2009. After leaving office, she has been involved with the Michaëlle Jean Foundation, which was established to promote education, culture and creativity among underprivileged youth. Her husband Jean-Daniel Dafond is Co-President of the foundation. Michaëlle Jean is also the UNESCO's Special Envoy to her country of birth, Haiti.
Postscript 18 March 2011: The "Official engagement" section at the official website has now ben changed to read "His Royal Highness The Crown Prince Regent grants Ms Michaëlle Jean, UNESCO's Special representative to Haiti, and Special advisor Jaques Bilodeau audience."
So it might be that the one responsible of updating the website had forgotten that Jean was not Governor General anylonger...
Maybe someone there reads your blog and learned of the mistake from you!
