The Royal Court announced at noon today that Queen Sonja had been discharged from hospital and would be on sick leave for the rest of the week. According to the court the medical examination showed that the queen's health situation had been normalised.
The queen was admitted to the National Hospital (Rikshospitalet) yesterday after experiencing shortness of breath/heavy breathing. She was transported by air ambulance from the Princes' Cottage (Prinsehytta, by the court called The Royal Mountain Chalet in English) in Sikkilsdalen. The cottage is is a rather remote place in the mountains, so the air ambulance was obviusly the best way of getting her quickly to hospital. The king and queen had spent the Easter vacation in Sikkilsdalen.
