The Norwegian Royal Court announced today that the funeral service for Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner, who died last Friday 11 September, 94 years old, will take place at Ris kirke (Ris Church) in Oslo on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 1 p.m.

The church service will be broadcast and made available for Norwegian media. Ris Church was consecrated in 1932 and has today around 500 seats.
Princess Astrid's last resting place is expected to be next to her husband at Ris urnelund (Ris Urn Garden) in Oslo.
Ris Urn Garden was opened in 1957. As the name suggests the cemetery is a memorial garden with name plaques and urn graves only.
