Norway: New royal stamps to be issued on 10 June

4 new royal stamps will be issued by the Norwegian Postal Service on Monday 10 June 2013 to mark the 40th birthdays of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit on 20 July and 19 August respectively.

The two first stamps show the Crown Prince and Crown Princess with their monograms. The third stamp shows the Crown Princely family at Skaugum - Marius Borg Høiby, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Crown Prince Haakon and in front Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. The fourth and last stamp pictures King Harald V and the two first persons in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne.

The stamps are designed by the well-known stamp artist Enzo Finger. All the stamps are valued at NOK 9,50 (A-mail, domestic). The various products made in connection with the new release can be viewed here.

Stamps of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his fiancée

The P&T Luxembourg is to issue a stamp ("special postmark") and a sheet ("block") in connection with the forthcoming wedding of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, eldest son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy. The stamps will be on sale from 25 September.

The civil wedding will take place at the Luxembourg City Hall on 19 October 2012, while the religious wedding will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Cathedral the day after.

New Norwegian Royal stamps

The latest issue of Frimerkeposten (The Stamp Magazine) - no. 1/2012 - which is published by Posten Norge AS-Frimerketjenesten (Posten Norge AS-The Filatelic Service) - arrived yesterday. King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway are pictured on the magazine's cover, as new stamps of Their Majesties are to be released on King Harald V's 75th birthday on 21 February in connection with Their Majesties' anniversaries this year. Queen Sonja will celebrate her 75th birthday on 4 July. The official celebration will take place in May 2012.

According to the stamp programme 2012, the new stamps have got the values NOK 9,50 (NK 1808 Queen Sonja) and NOK 13,00 (NK 1809 King Harald). See the presentation of the stamps here. In addition to the stamps you can also buy a First Day Cover, a Collector's Set and other collectible products.
